Signing in to Scoop with your company's SSO

  • Updated

If your employer participates in a Managed Carpool Program that uses single sign-on (SSO) (not all programs do), you'll sign up for and sign in to Scoop using your company account instead of using standard Scoop login options.

Scoop detects SSO automatically when you enter your company email address into the sign-in and sign-up screens, so there's nothing extra to set up. This article covers what to expect whether you're new to Scoop or already have an account.

📢 Important: If your company’s carpool program uses SSO, you must sign up with your company email address. SSO is detected from your company email, so signing up with a personal email won’t connect you to your company’s program.

Creating a new Scoop account with SSO

  1. Open the Scoop app and start creating an account.
  2. Enter your company email address. If your company's program uses SSO, Scoop will detect it and show an on-screen prompt.
  3. Tap Continue.
  4. On the next screen, select your company email account.
  5. Scoop creates your account automatically using the information from your company account.
  6. The first time you sign in, accept Scoop's policies and verify your phone number.

That's it, you're all set to start carpooling!

Signing in after your account is created

Once your account is set up, always sign in by tapping "Continue with [your company name]" on the Scoop sign-in screen. Signing in with an email and password or other login options won't work for SSO accounts.

If you already have a Scoop account

If you had a Scoop account before your company's program added SSO, you don't need to create a new one. The next time you sign in, Scoop will prompt you to sign in with your company account, using the same steps as above. Your Scoop account and company account are then linked automatically.

Once your accounts are linked:

  • The "Continue with [your company name]" button is the only way to sign in.
  • You'll be signed out of Scoop on any other devices.
  • Your company email becomes the primary email on your Scoop account. Any other emails on file stay on your account, and we recommend keeping more than one.
  • Saved phone numbers are removed for security purposes. You'll be asked to verify your phone number again.

Frequently asked questions

  1. Why can't I sign in with my email and password anymore? When your Scoop account is linked with your company's SSO, your company account becomes the way Scoop confirms it's really you. Because of this, other sign-in options, like your email and password, are no longer recognized for your account. This keeps your account protected by the same security your company uses for its other work tools.

  2. Why was I signed out on my other devices? When your Scoop account is linked to your company account, you're signed out on all other devices as a security measure. This makes sure every device using your account has been signed in through your company account. To keep using Scoop on another device, open the app and sign in again with the "Continue with [your company name]" button. Your account, rides, and history are still there.

  3. Why do I need to verify my phone number again? For security purposes, saved phone numbers are removed from existing accounts when your Scoop and company accounts are linked. Verifying your number again confirms it belongs to you and that you can receive ride updates and messages. You'll be prompted to verify the next time you sign in.
