Your Scoop Balance and cashing out funds

  • Updated

What is the Scoop Balance?

The Scoop Balance displays the accumulated credit or debit amount from your carpool usage. Scoop is not a subscription service—commuters are only charged for trips they schedule and complete as a Rider or any applicable cancellation fees.

  • As a Driver:  Trip reimbursements for completed carpools are automatically added to your Scoop Balance.
  • As a Rider: Trip cost is automatically debited from your Scoop Balance.
    • Any available credit in your balance is applied first before charging your credit or debit card.

At the end of the week, if your balance is negative, the remaining amount will be charged to the card on file.

Carpool payments or credits will appear on the Payments screen in app up to 2 hours after the trip has completed. If you don’t see them immediately, try refreshing the page.

Cashing out your funds

When your Scoop Balance is positive, you can cash out to a linked bank account once you have completed at least 5 trips as either a Rider or a Driver.

  • Processing time: Cash-outs are typically deposited within 3–5 business days.

  • Minimum amount: You must have at least $10.00 in your balance to cash out.

  • Banking information: Make sure your account and routing numbers are correct in the app to avoid delays.

📝Note: Any delays in payment are often due to holidays or incorrect banking information. You can resolve this by updating your saved account information in the app and contacting ScoopCare if needed.

How to initiate a cash out

  1. Tap Account in the bottom navigation bar of the app
  2. Tap Settings, then select Commute.
  3. Then tap Activity & Payments
  4. If your banking information is already saved, tap Cash out balance to initiate the transfer.

👉 Tip: Always double-check your banking information before submitting a cash-out request to ensure funds are deposited without delay.
