As a Driver, if you’re matched in a 3-person carpool, you can remove one Rider without canceling the entire trip.
You can remove a Rider directly from the Scoop app if:
- The Rider’s route does not work for your commute.
- A Rider lets you know they can’t make the trip.
- You’re unable to locate a Rider at pickup.
Scoop's standard cancellation policy applies to individual Rider removals. Read more here: What is Scoop's cancellation policy?
How to remove a Rider
- Open the Matched view for your carpool in the app.
- Tap Remove.
- Select the Rider you’d like to remove.
-
Choose the reason that best applies:
Rider is too far off my route.
Rider can’t make it.
I can’t find the Rider.
Removing a Rider due to route
If you select Rider is too far off my route, you’ll be prompted to:
Set route preferences for this Rider.
Create a route block to avoid similar matches in the future.
You can then choose to:
Continue the trip with the Rider this time, or
Remove the Rider from the carpool.
You will not be charged a cancellation fee when removing a Rider for route-related reasons.
Removing a Rider who can't make the trip
If a Rider tells you they can no longer attend the carpool, select Rider can’t make it. You’ll be asked to provide a brief explanation before completing the removal.
Removing a Rider who didn’t show up
If you can’t locate your Rider at the scheduled pickup time, select I can’t find the Rider once the trip is near. This allows you to proceed without canceling the entire carpool.
After removing a Rider
- The removed Rider will appear greyed out in the Matched view.
- A banner will display: You removed this Rider.
- If you removed the Rider using Rider can’t make it or I can’t find the Rider, you’ll have the option to place a personal block by tapping the banner and toggling Don’t match me with this carpooler.
