If you’re running late or need to reach out to your fellow commuter(s), you can contact them directly from the Scoop app once you’ve been matched in a carpool.
How to contact a matched carpooler
From the Commute tab in app, tap on your matched or in-progress carpool to open the trip details. On this screen, you’ll see your carpool information, route details, and the commuter(s) you’re matched with.
From here, you can tap the call or text icons next to a commuter’s name to contact them directly. This is the fastest way to coordinate pickup details, share updates, or let them know if you’re running late.
If you are a Driver and are running behind, you may also see quick-send message options (such as 5, 10, or 15 minutes late) that allow you to notify your Rider(s) with a single tap.
📝Note: Contact options are only available during an active carpool match. Once a carpool is completed or canceled, you will no longer be able to contact fellow commuters. Drivers are also not able to contact commuters on the carpool shortlist prior to being matched.
📢 Important: In line with Scoop’s Community Guidelines, making unwanted contact with carpoolers after a completed trip is not allowed. This helps ensure a safe and respectful experience for everyone using Scoop.
